DV2100 - LUNATIC MOON by Stephane Lu, Album [27:38]

With "Lunatic moon" we introduce STEPHANE LU [DV2700] who brings with his music a fresh and delicious taste to our menu of appetizing discs. He has made an album full of good ideas, bonne esprit and relaxed virility. For the design of the cover we have had the privilege of working with German illustrator PETER PROTHMANN [DV2200] who has drawn a beautiful scenery of an abandoned house, emphasizing the mood of Stephane's album that could easily be enjoyed during a promenade through the outskirts of town...

"Charming" is the album's opening track, something we would call electropop with a twist. Then there's "La suceuse de Ste-Marguerite" with it's sluggish rhythm and ace melody. "La lanterne" has elegant background noises and is basically about drinking. "Pas peur", a favorite on the disc, is the smartest self-praise we know. "Rire" is a text by Bukowski made into pure Pop with baroque ending. "Surprise party", one of the two instrumentals on the album, is a lush piece of sweet melancholy with scented strings. The title-track "Lunatic moon" makes you feel like sitting next to Stephane in his flat and finally "K-Valse" says bonne nuit and closes the door softly...
