DV1800 - DV FAN, a musical flash mob in your room - Compilation Album [56:37]

With this disc a likeable idea has been realized: to put together a bunch of cool musicians on one record in order to create a compilation full of charm and documentary value. The bands / artists featured here originate from three different nations. From FRANCE there are Manox, The Compliments [DV1900/DV2300] and Toxic Kiss, from the GERMAN SIDE it's Metabo, Jeanne Duval [DV900], Oberst Gregor [DV600/DV700/DV1200/DV1600/DV1900], Midi Prats [DV2400], and De Nuit; the USA sent in Smersh [DV1500/DV1700] and Ghostly Bus [DV1900/DV2000].

Although their musical styles are quite diverse the whole album comes across in a delightfully coherent manner. Be it the elegant beat minimalism of Ghostly Bus or the burst with energy New Wave Rock of Toxic Kiss, be it Jeanne Duval's intellectual weirdness or Oberst Gregor's funky grooves or be it each of the others - every track adds nice to the ensemble.

The allocated musical period ranges from 1985 to 2003 what gives this excellent disc an additional flavor of timelessness. The smartest listeners will have the option of associating prominent inspirators. Look De Bouk, Gestalt, Etienne Charry/OUI OUI, Ballistic Kisses, Martin Dupont, Scattered Order, early Yello, Pavillon 7B, Indoor Life - and many more could be cited whose spirit and brilliancy will be always there.
