Despite their history spanning almost 25 years in a way TRA is to be regarded as the first true album by ART TEACHERS [DV500, DV1300, DV2600]. In 1985 Stefan Griesshaber and Gregor Zentrich met and settled for the creation of a musical oeuvre. Their early recordings were tape experimentations incorporating drum machines and the stock of sound-producing equipment at hand. Various tapes were produced with landmark songs "I don't earn money" and "The City" [DV2600] delivering the blueprint of AT's later efforts.
TRA incorporates everything AT smoothly transformed into the 21st century: their dirty and heavy organic sound drilled into 16bit madness, Stefan's unique vocals, lots of effects and treated instruments, synthesizers and drummachines with names covering the range of alphabetic and numeric scales.
Dedicated to bands like The Last Man in Europe Corporation, Indoor Life or Perennial Divide DV2900 is 10 tracks of dark Minimal Synth blended with Coldwave and Industrial Funk; a stunning album with the right factor of deepness! Initial copies come with a 1" badge.
