OBERST GREGOR [DV600/DV700/DV1200/DV1900/DV2000] here presents a groovy two tracker with organic discoid instrumentals. Recorded in 2001 with a lot of hand percussions, Juno 106, bass, guitar and Korg's ingenious DSS-1 these tracks make for a delicious listening.
The first song "Bumbulla Shuffle" goes by combining bumpy percussion with techno bass thus building a dense rhythm driven mood that leads to a beautiful themelike end full of bent synths. "Funky Ischias" [funky sciatica] is more straight, like: "If a hard-on is yet the only body function it could be funky anyway." A slapped bass occurs, the guitar licks are spaced out by wah wah delays and the funny melody sets an accent against the hard Cowleyesque drums.
"Funky Ischias" appears also on the compilation album DV1800
